Find out how to use CloudMe Easy Upload

CloudMe Easy Upload is used to easily upload all your files to your CloudMe.com account. The first time you login to CloudMe Easy Upload you will be guided through a three step wizard to setup the application.

Wizard

Step 1 - Name your computer:

In this step you enter a name for your computer such as "My Home Computer". Uploaded folder(s) will by default be uploaded to a folder with this name.

Step 2 - Add folders

In this step you specify which folder(s) you want to upload. The application will try to find and add folders such as your Pictures and Music folder for you. If you don't want to upload these folders, just select the folder and click the trashcan icon to remove them. Use the plus icon to add new folders and the pen to edit the source or destination of the selected folder.

Note: You can at any time choose to add or remove folders from your upload list after this wizard.

Step 3 - Scheduling

In this step you decide how often the application should check for new files and upload them. You may change these preferences later in the Settings dialog.

Main view

In the main view to the left you will see a chart that shows the amount of total uploaded local files todate - broken down by category.

In the middle you'll see all your CloudMe drives. Click on a drive to see how much space remains. Below the drives, you will see the Start button. Click this button to manually trigger an upload of all folders. When an upload is started the application will scan the local folders for any new(or updated) files and upload them.

To the right is the list of folders whose content should be uploaded to CloudMe.

Notice: When you close the application it will be minimized to the system tray and continue to run in the background. To shut down the application, right click the CloudMe icon in the system tray and select Exit.

Are you having problems with CloudMe Easy Upload?

I cannot see the uploaded files appear in the Document Explorer application on cloudme.com

To improve performance and save traffic, cloudme.com caches folder structures and file listings. So when exploring your drive on cloudme.com you may view a cached (old) version of the file listings. To see all the new files select the menu option in Document Explorer View->Refresh.

Uploads are not started at the times I specified in the settings dialog. Why?

The scheduler is active when CloudMe Easy Upload is running, you are logged in and the scheduler is not deactivated. For this to work as smoothly as possible make sure the following is true:

A new upload begins when I start CloudMe Easy Upload, why aren't uploads performed only when scheduled?

Every time you log in the application checks when the last upload was performed and also how often the application is scheduled to upload. If it detects that an upload should have been performed since the last login it immediately starts an upload.

Another thing that may trigger an upload right after the application starts is if the previous upload wasn't finished (the computer was shut down or the program exited).

When I start a new upload I get an error message telling me the drive is full. What do I do?

This message is shown when trying to upload to an CloudMe drive that is full. This is what you can do in order to upload your files again:
